Kollmorgen will be exhibiting its family of motion control solutions for packaging machine builders at Interpack 2014, located in Dusseldorf, Germany, from May 8-14, 2014 in the Motion Control and Automation Hall 8a, Stand C 08. Kollmorgen will highlight its new IP69-K rated stainless steel AKMH™ Servomotor, specifically designed to address the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and provide long-life and trouble-free operation, even with daily exposure to chemicals and high pressure washdown. The company will also highlight its AKD-N distributed servo drive solution that significantly reduces cabinet space and cabling hassle, simplifying machine design, set-up and operation.

Among the simplest and least expensive feedback devices are Hall-effect sensors. These are digital on-off devices that detect the presence of magnetic fields. Made of semiconductor material, they are rugged, can be operated at very high frequencies (equating to tens of thousands of motor rpm), and are commonly used to provide six-step commutation of brushless motors.
