How One Glass Technology Manufacturer Reduced Machine Costs and Optimized Performance

Bottero, a leading glass technology manufacturer, needed to simplify the design of their "TITAN" grinding machine.  They also sought to reduce overall costs without sacrificing performance.

The foundation of the new design is an AKD® PDMM based control system that combines a multi-axis motion controller with AKD servo drive to deliver scalable, high-performance motion control in a single, compact and cost-effective package.

As a result Bottero was able to reduce TITAN's axes count by 50% and slice I/Os by 30%, and slash cabinet manufacturing costs by 30%.  All with no sacrifice to machine performance.
